This weeks random activities

This week I had a Dr's appointment, took the boys for flu mist yesterday (Michele was in school and I didn't want her to miss 6th hour), Corte and William got haircuts, went to dinner with Mel, sat on the phone twice with an enrollment counselor, preparing stuff to make a cake for this weekend, planned a 30th birthday party, cleaned the house, kept up the laundry, made sure the baptism for Shalyn and Logan got arranged, and decided on Halloween costumes!

This year we are going to do a family theme of Wizard of Oz
Cowardly lion~Corte
Scarecrow~ Rhett
Tin Man~ William
Wizard of Oz~ Cody
Glinda the witch~ Michele
Dorothy~ Me
Haunted tree~ Wilbur
Baby our Dog~ Toto

Anyway, amidst the crazy week I have made a HUGE decision. After praying and reading and re-reading my Patriarchal blessing I have decided to finish my associates degree. I am more or less starting from scratch. The program is 21 months and 2 classes at a time and they last for 9 weeks at a time. The reason I debated this issue is because I will be needing financial aid! I didn't want student loans, but I don't see a way around not having them. Will and I talked about it and weighed the options. We have all the information and facts that we need to decide all this. But I will most likely be in school for the next 5 or 6 years. By then the kids will be in school all day and I will have the day to attend on campus to become a Registered Nurse. I am 95% excited the other 5% is very nervous! It has been 10 years since I was in college!!!!!! I can do this! I need to keep telling myself I can conquer the WORLD! I almost have myself convinced. LOL This is a very interesting step in my life. Guess it is the whole I am turning 30! I have to grow up now! I still have a few months before my birthday but it is coming really fast. With only two kids home during the day and I am not working. I will have some free time to get it done.

Here are some random pictures from the week with my new camera.... Oreo cookie face! See the creme center?

Melis! I think I could picture you going to school. Right now you already do enough to keep 3 people busy, so I am possitive you can handle anything else you want to do too. I'm right there with you: When I want something done, I always find a way to do it. I just don't take no for an answer, and it drives Jared up the wall sometimes.
When you think of what the church leaders have said about education it makes sense:
1. It's important for not only men but women too...
2. It's ok to go into debt for that, right?
3. and it's always good to BE PREPARED!
So I think it's a great idea, and very brave of you to take that on in the middle of raising all those little rascals. Good luck! HUGS! LUVS! You little SUGARPLUM!!!!mmmmmmwwwwah!

Love the pics, and I think the camera was well worth it! As for school, don't let age or absence from it stop you, I got an associates degree on the 4 year program...LOL should have taken 2 of course but that doesn't matter! I loved school and even got straight A's most semesters and never thought that I could. I just got mine in general studies but it is so worth having. I will continue on it someday after my babies are bigger but it was the most worthwhile time I have ever spent and I have so many good memories and enjoyment from everything I learned. I say if you want to do it..GO FOR IT! You will amaze yourself I know it! It's one of the best things we can do to get our education - best of luck and I hope you will enjoy your schooling! I think you are way more than capable of it! Sending you a huge hug and all the best for your new adventure!! :)
