Cutting the rug literally! LOL

So here is the story.... The boys carpet is almost 6 years old! We have gone through two dogs house training, little boys potty training (boys have to pee wherever ya know), markers, snacks spilled, mud, and spilled sippy cups. It was in bad shape. So a while back I purchased 160 sq ft of wood flooring off Craiglists for $80! More than enough to do the boys room. But first the rug needs to come up. I got a wild hair when Mel was here helping clean for the upcoming party and having Sunday dinner with us and started cutting it with a utility knife. Needless to say it was taking too long for me. Let's speed this up. I started cutting it with the only saw I am not afraid of and cut it into smaller pieces that I can carry out. It took us about an hour with all the kids in the room on top of the bunk bed! Mel said I was crazy and had lost it completely! Of course we need to document this insanity, she begins taking pictures. Gee thanks saster! Here are a few. Thanks for the help! She cleaned up behind me after I took up the tack boards. It was nothing less than interesting.

Looks like the kids are having more fun than anyone. When you own a house you got a job. Looking good. Love ya, Uncle Dad

It will feel so good to get new flooring in there. Huge job. It probably looked like it would be quick before you started. LOL! BTW.. I love Craigslist. I've purchased so many things on it. Very useful.

I love your blog. All women know if they want something done to do it themselves. Glad you have fun while you're at it!!

Ain't no mountain high enough for ya girlfriend. You can do it ALL. You crack me up so bad.LOL I do stuff like that too. Last week, I was sick of waiting for my husband to fix the furnace that wouldn't drain right, so I took the drill (you know, the one that I use more than he does?!?) and put on a special drill bit and drilled a hole through the bottom of the pan to drain it another way, but um... I couldn't figure it out from there. I'm still thinking about what to do next. Ever get yourself into a pickle like that? Good thing it's very mild weather outside or I'd be hating life!

DIY saves a lot of money, that is awesome! I love Craigs list too because you can find some really good deals! I bet a nice wood floor in there looks great and is 10x easier to keep looking good without all the work...great job!! :)
