Okay last week I look around my house and notice I have been neglecting the "mucking out" cleaning in some spots in my house. I mean I clean everyday but the deep spring cleaning was missed this year. So only about 6 months late I decide to Spring clean before Katelyn's party and the general party season at my house. It starts with 3 in July, 1 in September, 3 in Oct, and 1 November. Then the Holidays hit Thanksgiving is usually here by my own choice! Christmas decorating after that! Now is the time to do the little fix it jobs and the late summer Spring cleaning. LOL
Things I did this week....
Carpet in the boys room (see blog below)
Laundry (seriously totally caught up ~sheets, towels, clothes~18 loads!!!!)
Laundry (seriously totally caught up ~sheets, towels, clothes~18 loads!!!!)
Vacuumed out all the couches ( I do this weekly anyway I have boys!)
Washed couch cushion covers 3 couches!
fixed some of the blinds
wiped the blinds down Dust ya know?
Cleaned windows around the house UGH!
Dusted my furniture
Dusted all china, china cabinets, and curio cabinets
Cleaned dumped on horizontal surfaces... You know the dump spot for every ones junk!
Bills/mail holder and surrounding counter space
Organized two kitchen cupboards
Top of fridge (whats up with that spot?)
Entry hall table (again the dump spot)
Crayon/hand prints off the walls LOL
Painted over crayon on the walls that wouldn't come off!
Fixed/ dusted Entertainment center (Corte pulled one of glass doors off and Rhett dropped it while trying to tattle very funny story.)
Cleaned out the fridge AGAIN! Yes I did that last week too! Darn kids and spills LOL
Wiped down the kitchen chairs. (Kids and dirty hands!)
Fixed Gossip couch in front room. ( one of the legs fell off and the kids pulled the front off the drawer)
Dusted/de-cluttered computer desk
Hung up new pictures of the kids
Cleaned out our bathroom cupboards under sinks and OVERLY scrubbed EVERYTHING
Put fronts back on the drawers in the kitchen (daddy doesn't know his own strength LOL)
Straightened up the bookshelf
Pulled down the curtains to wash them ( it has been 6 months!!!)
Mopped the house (that's a given)
replaced oven hinges and rubber seal (came home after our date night and the door was bent and wouldn't close all the way. That was three months ago. Had the parts but no time! I made time)
Cleaned the inside of the oven (pretty easy with the door off)
And in all the craziness I made a Cool cake!
And in all the craziness I made a Cool cake!
The really neat thing is I didn't spend any money fixing stuff because I had it all here at the house or had bought it months ago. But I didn't have time to get to it.
The only spot that didn't get mucked or cleaned was my room! The boys use our room as a play room most of the time. But that's okay I will get it done while Will is off this week. See the problem is either he is asleep in the room or I am. So either wait until he goes to work or do it on his days off. I took some pictures of my house to FREEZE this moment in time! And to look at the pictures with hope that I can get it this way again.
Here are some of the shots after the party clean up...

You are a freak of nature (in a good way). If they had homemaker school, you'd be in the honors class for sure. You are awesome, what a good example to all of us. KUDOS!
All i have to say is...over achiever!! Just teasing. I almost want to clean my house now! Want to come do mine?
Your house is beautiful! If only I had just a little of your energy I could get my house clean. Love you bunches!
If your life is anything like mine..and I know that it is.. it's a good thing you took pictures because the clean won't last!! LOL Kids are always pulling in the opposite direction (ie: caos, clutter, disorder etc.) I am celebrating with you the momentary triumph of having conquered entropy for a short while. BTW..your house is such a friendly, beautifully decorated home! I am truly impressed. It looks so wonderful all organized! Fabulous job honey!
PS - I had forgotten about your offer to share a story about Nan and scrapbooking..of course I want to hear it. e-mail me
