We have been busy. I did get some time to post a slide show about Will's new toy. Here is the story. I know a lot of people are trading in BIG
suv's for smaller compact cars to commute. Well I have to stick with my suburban, that we lovingly call "
VURBAN". Will decided his small Malibu was getting old enough that he was using about $130 in gas each month. Thank goodness we don't have a payment on it. Will was given the car after his mother passed away, his dad wanted him to have it. Anyway, he has been wanting a toy for a while. I have talked him out of the boat for least a little while. Our kids are so young we couldn't enjoy it as much as we would like to. Plus who wants payments on a $20,000 boat!? Thanks honey I LOVE YOU! Well here enters the motorcycle. We shopped around for a few weeks looking at different makes and models. I really know he had his heart set on a Harley... so we kept going back. We looked at getting a 2008 but because interest rates run higher on "recreational vehicles" we didn't want the payments that high. We didn't have our hearts set on new because we didn't care it was all about price and quality. Anyway we were showed a trade-in that hadn't hit the floor yet. It was a 2004 883
Sportster. Not the engine size he wanted but hey it is a start! It only has 3000 miles on it and has a lot of upgrades. That is a total bonus. The payments are lower than the cost of his monthly gas bill. I know we can afford this. But now the worry factor comes in. I am totally scared to death. I just know some idiot on the road is going to not be paying attention and kill him. He is taking the class with TEAM Arizona. Thank you Superstition Harley Davidson! They took really good care of us. I loved Dennis the finance manager. He jumped through hoops for us. Well so far he isn't dead and he is practicing until the class so he can get his license. Dirt bike riding is very different than street bikes. I just pray extra hard and cross my fingers for luck!
I can't even remember everything we did this week. Here are a few things. I repainted our bedroom. I guess feels that I can be the one painting it considering I change the color frequently. Okay I am on color number 4 since we moved in 5 years ago. I started painting late Tuesday night. I like to wait until the kids go to sleep. I painted mostly trim and taped off for the big painting. That only took me around 2 hours. The next day I was busy all morning so I finally got to painting around 12:30... I was totally finished around 3:30. I was cleaning up and moving all my furniture back into its original places. It looks good. The color is a washable
BEHR flat paint Smokey Slate. A sage with a ting of grey. It is really cozy and inviting.
Thursday I took Rhett to the Dr and did some cleaning. A little running around for the party. I had made tentative plans with my friends so go to Baptisms for the Dead. Okay I am embarrassed to admit this but it has been almost 15 years since the last time I went. Becky and I were supposed to be supporting our friend Marti, she is a recent convert, but no we had no clue and couldn't remember everything we needed to. Boy did we look bad. And here is the topper... Marti brought her own names. Here we were two life long members totally blowing it. I guess we forgot the meaning of "example". Hello??? Alright, it was a wonderful experience. Things were kind of rushed so I don't think we were in the right "spirit". Don't get me

wrong I felt the spirit, but it was not as strong as I remembered it. I want to go back when it is a slower time, bring my own names, and slow down before I get there. Walk the temple grounds or do a session first so I can feel it more. Ya know? It was neat to see Marti, that was my special thing I took from that experience. Plus I can't wait to drag my husband down there so we can do some of his side of family's work! Michele has her recommend to do Baptisms for the Dead we could make it a family thing one night and in October when Cody gets his recommend we can all go! Just the four of us. I can't wait. My heart aches to experience that with them. Soon I keep telling myself. I am so happy to be sharing such special things with my older kids. As a parent you forget about the stuff to come because we get lost in the day to day things. This picture cracks me up. We had a sister missionary take it for us. Of course our hair was all fluffy, uncurled and we had no make up on. It was totally worth it.
Friday was super busy. I paid bills, ran errands, made and

decorated a cake, made a tractor out of an old computer desk that was dump bound, and did a mountain of

laundry!
Today we had Rhett's party. I got up at 9:20 after going to bed at 4:15, to answer the door for the Jump around guy. Angel's Jump around is the best. Angel is a convert also and my sisters neighbor. Lately we have been renting the jump
arounds for the kids parties because he is so reasonably priced. We got a slip and slide for Rhett's party. It was so hot today! We needed something to cool us off. Michele wants us to get one for her birthday next month. She already has the one she wants picked out. The party was so great. All the kids played and played. It was nice not to have to entertain them all afternoon. I will post some pictures of the fun festivities.

You are so creative!!! I can't believe you made that cake and the tractor table too! They are so cute, and you are an INSPIRATION to me! Who would have thought, when we were bratty little girls together that this would be our adult life! You're an awesome Mom. I'm so proud of you.
And I forgot to say that I wish Nan could see you now with your adorable kids and what a great Mom you are to them. You turned out so well. I'm sure she is looking down and is proud of you too.
And also I wanted to say that you probably ARE the busiest Mom on earth! Staying up all night just to make things special for the kids, I've never HEARD of such devotion.
This comment is just an added bonus. LOL
Yeah what she said...lol - you are too cute Melis, I wish I could have just one little pinkies worth of your talents!!! I couldn't make a tractor desk let alone a cake - you rock! I know what you mean about going to do baptisms, I went with my YW before I got released and hadn't been since I was a youngster in the hood and I felt all akward like I couldn't remember a thing! It does make you feel like you want to go back really bad and do it lots more times. I really enjoyed doing it for sure. That will be so special for your family to go together, what a marvelous goal! Love your new blog too darlin! Very festive, and I want to do a fourth theme on mine too when I get time! haha
